Video game publisher THQ Nordic has revealed that it currently has twenty nine total projects in active development across its network of internal studios, with twelve of those games remaining entirely unannounced. The publisher shared the news during its August 2026 Digital Showcase, where it provided updates on known projects and teased upcoming releases.

THQ Nordic operates as one of the largest video game publishers in the industry, overseeing sixteen subsidiary studios under its corporate umbrella. The publisher has built a reputation for developing original titles while consistently remaking and remastering classic games, including high profile releases like the Gothic series and Alone in the Dark. Recent studio efforts include bringing the remake of Destroy All Humans to Nintendo Switch 2, with its sequel Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed set to arrive on the platform later in the year.

During the hour long showcase, THQ Nordic offered progress updates on several major releases. Role playing title Expeditions: Samurai launched into early access alongside the event. The publisher also detailed release dates for the classic Gothic series on consoles, with Gothic 2 Complete Classic scheduled for September and Gothic 3 Classic following in November. Additionally, new platform announcements included SpongeBob SquarePants: Titans of the Tide and Sacred 2 Remaster coming to Nintendo Switch 2, alongside mobile and console release dates for Epic Mickey Rebrushed.

The event featured a surprise release for horror title Reanimal, which received its first downloadable expansion named The Prisoner. The expansion adds two playable characters, new locations, additional story content, and fresh boss encounters. Two more expansions for Reanimal are planned to follow in late 2026 and early 2027. While THQ Nordic confirmed the existence of twelve unannounced projects, the company did not provide specific titles, release windows, or reveal dates for those mystery games.
