Angela Sant'Albano, best known for portraying Resident Evil Requiem protagonist Grace Ashcroft, will reportedly replace Jennifer English as Gwendolyn in Tides of Annihilation. The upcoming action project from Eclipse Glow Games currently has no official launch window announced.


In Resident Evil Requiem, Grace Ashcroft stars alongside co-lead Leon S. Kennedy. Following in the footsteps of her mother, Resident Evil Outbreak reporter Alyssa Ashcroft, the FBI agent investigates suspicious deaths in Wrenwood near the ruins of Raccoon City. Sant'Albano received widespread acclaim from survival horror fans for her performance in the ninth mainline entry, making her a standout newcomer in Capcom's series.


Speculation regarding Sant'Albano's next project surfaced after outlet Need4Games noted that Gwendolyn's updated voice match in recent Shanghai event footage closely resembles the actor. Motion capture performer Jennifer Prime fueled those reports on Twitter after sharing clips displaying the game's environments, character customization, and boss encounters. Responding to social media comments, Prime joked that Gwendolyn would feature "No more screaming LEON!!!!" while drawing gameplay comparisons to the Soulslike genre and Final Fantasy 16.


Early previews of Tides of Annihilation originally featured Jennifer English in the lead role, but newer footage shows Gwendolyn's physical model altered to match Sant'Albano. Back on July 17, studio team Eclipse Glow Games confirmed English stepped back from primary acting duties to focus on mental health while staying on in an advisory capacity. Neither the developer nor Sant'Albano has formally issued a press release verifying the casting update.


Fans expecting official updates on the title will likely hear more during upcoming summer conventions. Eclipse Glow Games confirmed an interactive demo of Tides of Annihilation will feature at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, running from August 26 to 30 following Gamescom Opening Night Live on August 25. Alongside major appearances like The Witcher 3: Songs of the Past, attendees hope the developer will provide concrete details on Gwendolyn's new performance.


Following the international success of titles like Black Myth: Wukong, Chinese development studios continue to expand their footprint across Western markets. Whether Tides of Annihilation can replicate that global momentum remains a central question as development progresses.
