Pokemon GO's next season will be called Twilight Trails, and developer Scopely Explore has revealed a teaser showcasing several Pokemon that will be featured throughout the upcoming event. The new season will continue the game's growing focus on Pokemon Legends: Z-A, which has already inspired the addition of several Mega Evolutions over the past year.

The current Pokemon GO season, Forever Forward, has placed a major emphasis on Mega Evolution. Recent additions have included Mega Raichu X and Mega Raichu Y, as well as Mega Starmie, all of which originally debuted in Pokemon Legends: Z-A.

Pokemon GO Fest 2026 also took place during the season, bringing the long-awaited Mega Mewtwo X and Mega Mewtwo Y to the mobile game.Scopely Explore revealed Twilight Trails in a post on Twitter, confirming that the new season will run from September 8 through December 1.

The teaser showed silhouettes of several Pokemon, including Mega Chandelure and Mega Staraptor, both of which are expected to arrive in Pokemon GO during the season.

The trailer also featured Maschiff, the Dark-type Pokemon originally introduced in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet. Perhaps the most interesting silhouette, however, was Zorua. Its appearance could lend further credibility to a previous leak claiming that Zorua will be the featured Pokemon for October's Community Day.

The developers previously revealed the Community Day schedule for the Twilight Trails season, confirming a Community Day Classic in September alongside regular Community Day events in October and November. The featured Pokemon for those events have not yet been officially announced, but Zorua's appearance in the Twilight Trails teaser could mean that the October leak was accurate.

That would leave the September and November Community Day Pokemon as the remaining mysteries. If Pokemon GO follows its usual Community Day schedule, December could once again feature a special event bringing back Pokemon that were previously featured throughout the year.

Before Twilight Trails officially begins, however, there is still plenty happening during Forever Forward. Pokemon GO Fest: Mega Finale is scheduled to take place on September 5 and 6, shortly before the new season begins. The event will introduce three more Mega Evolutions to Pokemon GO: Mega Greninja, Mega Chesnaught, and Mega Delphox.

Scopely Explore has yet to reveal all the details surrounding the Mega Finale, but the event should provide a major conclusion to a season that has heavily focused on Mega Evolution. With Twilight Trails continuing that trend while introducing more content from Pokemon Legends: Z-A, Pokemon GO players have plenty to look forward to when the new season begins.
