Phase 2 of Battlefield 6 season 4 introduces big changes!
Electronic Arts outlines an ambitious future for Battlefield 6 with new maps, custom lobbies, proximity chat, and the return of server browsers.
Following the release of Season 4, Electronic Arts shared a new content roadmap detailing upcoming features for Battlefield 6 in Season 5 and beyond. After a rocky end to twenty twenty-five, Battlefield 6 has built strong momentum thanks to steady seasonal updates and consistent game fixes.Season 4 focuses heavily on naval combat, introducing Tsuru Reef, the largest map created by Battlefield Studios to date. The map features a massive island chain with deep water for boats and jet skis, as well as dense vegetation and buildings for close combat. The season also introduced new weapons, including the EF88 Assault Rifle, BROD 3 Carbine, and VSSM Designated Marksman Rifle, with more items planned for upcoming phases.
According to a community update from the official Battlefield Comms account, Season 4 will expand through new phases in August and September. Phase 2 in August introduces custom lobbies and a spectator mode, starting with support for Battle Royale Quads and Conquest before expanding to other modes.
Phase 3, titled Tidal Strike, begins in September and introduces proximity chat. The feature will undergo testing in Battlefield Labs starting September fifteenth for the Battle Royale mode before expanding to core multiplayer based on player feedback.
Looking further ahead, Season 5 will bring three new maps focused on infantry combat, alongside complete reworks for existing maps New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields. Season 5 will also reintroduce the popular server browser, alongside new multiplayer leaderboards and platoons. While the future of the game appears bright, Electronic Arts is preparing for a potential ownership change as a major acquisition nears completion. It remains unclear how this ownership transition might impact future game updates, but for now, the current roadmap remains on schedule.
