Sega has opened registrations for Crazy Taxi: World Tour's multiplayer closed network test, giving players an early chance to race before the 2027 launch.
Can't wait until 2027 to jump behind the wheel in Crazy Taxi: World Tour? Sega is giving players an early chance to hit the streets with a multiplayer closed network test this September, and registrations are now open.
The test will take place from September 11 at 5 p.m. PDT until September 13 at 5 p.m. PDT, giving selected players access to two online multiplayer modes: Pickup Race and Cops 'N' Cabbies.
In Pickup Race, up to six players compete to pick up and deliver as many passengers as possible before time runs out, earning the most "crazy money" along the way. Cops 'N' Cabbies pits six players, divided into three two-player teams, against one another in a chaotic multiplayer showdown inspired by the series' signature high-speed driving.
The network test will feature two maps, four playable characters, and six customizable vehicles with a variety of tuning options. Cross-play will be supported across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam and Xbox).
Players can sign up for the closed network test through the official Crazy Taxi: World Tour website until August 31 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
A New Look at the West Coast
Alongside the network test announcement, Sega also released a new trailer showcasing the game's West Coast map, a modern take on the series' iconic San Francisco-inspired setting.
The trailer offers a more relaxed look at the city and some of its quirky passengers, while also confirming that IHOP and Amoeba Music will appear as officially licensed locations in the game.
Sega says each destination in Crazy Taxi: World Tour will feature regional restaurants and retailers, suggesting more recognizable real-world brands could be revealed ahead of launch.
