WHERE MAGIC GLITCHES

From the first second, Split Fiction grasps your attention with a bold and confident level of creativity that makes you hold your breath. Whether you play as Mio in Zoe’s world or the other way around, the experience immediately pulls you in through its storytelling and visual design.

A Guinness World Records-winning co-op game that simply exceeded all expectations and more. When a glitch connects the sci-fi world with the fantasy one, the story takes a sharp and unpredictable turn. Split Fiction offers a story you’d want to play with aesthetic graphics, and a delightful experience.

The kind of Fantasy and Sci-Fi that may look a bit chaotic because of the constant transition between worlds, visuals and skills. Hazelight Studios really excelled in making a smooth and organized transition, maintaining captivating gameplay.

Beyond the Glitch

I immediately connected with Split Fiction as soon as the game started. With its bold stories and charming colors or immersive sound effects, you fully connect with the game and get the full story. The bad guy in this game is J.D. Rader, the founder of Rader Publishing. Everything changes when both worlds collide. Although you don’t fight Rader often you see him in all the villains in the game.

The game offers a wonderful and light experience that will get you hooked. As Mio panics at the last second and tries to escape, she falls into Zoe’s machine, creating the Glitch. Mio accidentally enters Zoe’s Fantasy world and ends up pulling her to her world as well.

Although side stories are known for not being that interesting, Split Fiction managed to change my mind by maintaining well-paced and exciting stories to follow. Starting a side story as a pig or a tooth definitely made things interesting.

Side stories are made of Zoe’s and Mio’s unfinished funny or creepy stories from when they were kids. These stories remain intriguing, constantly pushing you to discover what happens next.

SCI-FI or FANTASY?

Between Parkouring, solving puzzles and navigating different worlds, you enjoy every bit of the story. Nevertheless, how chaotic yet organized this game can be, it certainly gives each player a unique experience, with a distinct taste, even though you’re in the same stage and moment in the game.

Being haunted by a robot that just wants to kill for not paying parking tickets, and other fun side stories like being a pig, then ending up as sausage in someone’s mouth. These kinds of stories might sound fun, but they provide the perfect combination of creativity and Humor.

Nevertheless, the game seamlessly switches genres transitioning from puzzles to boss fights to other challenges. With genre hopping, you don’t know what to expect, as you might be racing at a point then a second later, you’re escaping trolls or fighting a big boss.

As soon as you start the game, you’ll be advised to use your controller for the best experience and you’ll realize that it’s really smooth yet challenging.            The more you play the game, the more you’ll see how the developers made it entertaining.

No Fractures inthe Split

The more you progress in the game, the more you’ll realize that although the controls and mechanics change, it’s still pretty easy and totally manageable. Surprisingly, shifting between creatures in the side stories occurs fairly smoothly and instantly as they come in handy during your gameplay.

Every level introduces new mechanics with genre twists, you don’t play long enough for the game to feel boring. The synergy between Mio &  Zoe creates one outstanding experience, and is essential for your stories to advance and move to the next level. This keeps the experience fresh and engaging.

Jumping between the sci-fi and fantasy worlds allows the gameplay to shift tones smoothly while syncing your actions through communication. Hazelight Studios went for highly detailed graphics while maintaining an artistic and imaginative design that perfectly fits the game’s spirit.

Split Fiction keeps your movement and exploration restrained, serving the story well. The tightly curated environment keeps the tension high and puts you in constant immersion in the game without losing focus.

SYNC OR SINK

One of the most creative games I have played in a long time! Although I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t really play it alone, I had to find a partner on the Split Fiction Discord Server. As soon as I started playing, I was really hooked by the visuals, story and mechanics. Even the enjoyable conversations were somehow engaging, making you want to hear more.

Furthermore, most of the side quests require perfect timing and communication to accomplish anything. Each character is given distinct abilities to complement and assist the other, allowing them to work simultaneously. In this game, teamwork is not just encouraged, but it’s mandatory as well!

In simple words, Hazelight Studios exceeded all of our expectations, creating Split Fiction. With a breathtaking experience and amazing gameplay, they certainly made a piece of art that I hope is the beginning of a sequel.
