1001 Threads of Mizan has been revealed as the debut game from MBC Game Studio, introducing a large scale Arabian fantasy adventure inspired by the storytelling traditions of One Thousand and One Nights. The action adventure is being developed for solo play and cooperative gameplay with up to three players.

The game places players in a handcrafted fantasy world where exploration and combat are combined with a strong focus on cooperation. Three heroes named Yusra, Malik, and Sufyan will be brought together by the legendary Storyweaver Shahrazad as they attempt to stop an ancient jinn king from destroying humanity.

The story begins after a fisherman accidentally frees the vengeful jinn king from his imprisonment. With the balance between realms threatened, the three heroes will be tasked with using the ancient power of the Mizan while confronting armies of dangerous jinn.

Combat is being presented on an impressive scale, with enormous jinn serving as some of the game's biggest threats. Players will be able to fight these creatures together while making use of both ground based movement and aerial traversal.

One of the game's most distinctive features will be its flying carpet system. Players will be able to travel through the world on airborne carpets, allowing them to quickly cross large areas and take part in battles against colossal enemies from the air.

Although cooperative play is a major part of the experience, the game will also support solo adventures. The developers have explained that players will be able to explore the world alone, although certain enemies, puzzles, and side quests are designed to become more challenging without teammates.

Three playable heroes will be available, with each character featuring a distinct but balanced style. Cooperation will be particularly important during difficult encounters, with players expected to coordinate their abilities and movement while facing powerful enemies.

The world itself is being built around Arabic folklore and the cultural atmosphere of One Thousand and One Nights. Ancient civilizations, mystical creatures, magical technology, and legendary stories are being combined to create a setting that has rarely been explored in a large scale action adventure.

1001 Threads of Mizan is being developed by MBC Game Studio, a newly established team led by industry veterans with experience at studios including BioWare, Ubisoft Montreal, Bungie, and Hi Rez.

The game is planned for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, Nintendo Switch 2, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Cross platform play is also planned across most supported platforms, although additional details are expected closer to launch.

No release date has been announced yet. A playable pre alpha demonstration is being shown at Gamescom, giving players their first opportunity to experience the game's combination of large scale combat, exploration, aerial traversal, and cooperative gameplay.
