Capcom action role playing game Dragon Dogma 2 is receiving fan made cooperative multiplayer on PC through an upcoming early alpha release of the DD2gether mod. The project brings online multiplayer functionality to the single player title, bringing the game experience closer to Capcom Monster Hunter series and fulfilling a long standing feature request previously only explored in Japan through Dragon Dogma Online.

An announcement trailer shared on YouTube confirmed that the alpha release will let players explore the open world together on PC. According to details shared on the project official Discord server, the current setup enables players to take control of Pawns while syncing environmental state changes across connected games. The development team also noted in late June that Stray Paws can be controlled by players. Once technical issues are resolved, future updates could potentially expand lobby limits past four players and enable massive twenty player castle sieges.

The alpha release of the mod arrives alongside renewed activity for the franchise ahead of the Dark Arisen expansion, which is scheduled to launch on October 9 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, and Nintendo Switch 2. While the DD2gether mod remains exclusive to PC, console versions of Dragon Dogma 2 have also received performance and content improvements, with additional updates planned for later this month.
