Officially Announced: The Legend of Zelda: Quartet of Time
A new fan-made album reimagines Ocarina of Time's iconic soundtrack with live string quartet performances ahead of the game's anticipated remake.

A brand-new Legend of Zelda project inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time has officially been revealed. Titled The Legend of Zelda: Quartet of Time, the project is a full-length musical album produced by ZREO: Second Quest, featuring classic compositions by longtime Zelda composer Koji Kondo reimagined for a live string quartet.

Music has always been one of the defining elements of the Legend of Zelda series. From Link's iconic ocarina melodies in Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask to the performances of Kass in Breath of the Wild, music has played a central role in both the gameplay and storytelling across the franchise. As a result, Zelda's soundtrack has become one of the most celebrated in gaming, inspiring fan projects and orchestral arrangements for decades.

ZREO Returns With a New Ocarina of Time Tribute

Quartet of Time is the latest release from ZREO: Second Quest, the successor to the long-running Zelda Reorchestrated project. Over the years, the group has produced acclaimed fan albums such as Concerning Clock Town, inspired by Majora's Mask, and Twilight Symphony, based on Twilight Princess.

For its newest project, ZREO has partnered with acclaimed string quartet ATLYS, who will perform newly arranged versions of some of Ocarina of Time's most memorable compositions. The collaboration aims to give fans a fresh orchestral take on the beloved Nintendo 64 soundtrack.

Songs Will Release Individually Before the Full Album

Rather than launching all at once, tracks from Quartet of Time will be released individually on streaming platforms as recording sessions are completed. A full physical album is also planned for a later date.

Fans interested in following the project can keep an eye on ZREO's pages on Bandcamp, Spotify, YouTube Music, and Apple Music. While no release schedule has been announced, additional details are expected as the recordings continue.

The Album Arrives Alongside Ocarina of Time's Return

The announcement comes at an exciting time for Zelda fans, with Nintendo preparing to release its long-awaited The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Officially unveiled during the June 2026 Nintendo Direct, the remake is currently slated to launch later this year exclusively for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Although Nintendo has yet to reveal many details about the remake, anticipation remains high, making Quartet of Time a fitting companion project ahead of the game's return.

While the album's complete track list hasn't been revealed, fans can likely expect new arrangements of some of Ocarina of Time's most iconic themes, including "Hyrule Field," "Zelda's Lullaby," and "Song of Time." With both the official remake and this ambitious fan-made tribute arriving in 2026, it looks to be a memorable year for one of Nintendo's most beloved adventures.
