Destiny 2 players have discovered a new glitch that makes farming some of the game's strongest Tier 5 armor sets much easier. The method can reportedly produce valuable armor pieces in around a minute, giving players a quick way to improve their builds while Bungie's support for the game remains limited.

Destiny 2 has been in an unusual position since Bungie announced in May that development and live service support would effectively end following the June 9 update. After a major round of layoffs at Bungie, there is no longer a dedicated Destiny 2 development team working on the game.

Instead, the remaining developers are mainly dealing with serious problems when necessary. Bungie has also been disabling items, abilities and maps when fixing them would require too much development work.

That has already happened with several pieces of content, including an armor set and a Crucible map. Based on previous comments from Bungie communications manager dmg04 and the game's final hotfix, players have reason to believe that many things disabled from this point forward may never be repaired. Interestingly, that could also apply to useful glitches.

A player named renny recently shared a method that allows players to quickly farm several Tier 5 armor sets from Monument of Triumph. The trick involves Master Lost Sectors and the way their armor rewards are handled when a player's Engram inventory is full.

Master Lost Sectors always reward Tier 5 armor pieces, and players can complete some of them very quickly when playing solo. Certain Lost Sectors, such as The Conflux on Nessus, can reportedly be finished in around a minute or less by experienced players.

The trick comes into play when there is no room in a player's Engram inventory. Instead of being placed directly into the inventory, the armor rewards are sent to the Postmaster as Engrams.

Those Engrams can then be decoded at different destinations to obtain specific armor sets. Opening them at the Postmaster on Neptune can produce pieces from the Thunderhead set, while opening them in the Pale Heart can produce First Ascent armor.

This means players can repeatedly run a fast Master Lost Sector, fill their Engram inventory, and then use the Postmaster to farm the armor they want.

The method is especially useful for players looking for the Thunderhead set, which is considered valuable for certain PvE builds. Its two-piece bonus, License to Thrill, provides stacking resistance to close-range damage after activating a grenade or the Nanotech Tracer Missiles Origin Trait found on Neomuna weapons.

Its four-piece bonus, Lethal Wave, also rewards players with grenade energy after defeating unraveled enemies. If the grenade ability is already fully charged, players instead receive progress toward their Special ammo meter.

The First Ascent set from the Pale Heart offers a different approach. Its two-piece Stack 'Em Up bonus increases Transcendence energy gains after defeating enemies with different elemental damage types. Its four-piece Burn 'Em Down bonus works while Transcendence is active, converting those stacks into increasing amounts of grenade energy.

This is not the first time players have discovered a farming trick involving Tier 5 armor. A similar method previously allowed players to obtain the Ferropotent, Smoke Jumper and Techsec sets through Postmaster Engrams.

The discovery that the same technique works with Thunderhead and First Ascent gives players even more options.

Because Destiny 2 is no longer receiving regular development support, the glitch may remain available for quite some time. Bungie has not indicated that it plans to fix this particular exploit.

Despite the game's uncertain future, Destiny 2 continues to maintain a healthy player base nearly two months after the Monument of Triumph update. However, some major figures in the community are moving on. Popular YouTuber Datto is set to retire from Destiny 2 later this month, while several other creators have already stepped away.

For now, though, players still have a quick way to chase some of the game's best armor before the game's long-term future becomes clearer.
