The first post-launch update for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game has officially gone live, bringing pre-order content, gameplay improvements, and a variety of bug fixes. Despite launching during a competitive month for fighting games, the title has quickly built momentum thanks to its striking hand-drawn visuals and art style that closely captures the look of the original animated series.
The game has also earned positive reviews from critics, who have praised its responsive combat and diverse roster. Although Avatar Legends has a steeper learning curve than some of its rivals, each fighter offers a unique playstyle. Zaheer, for example, stands apart by breaking the traditional one-on-one formula, allowing him to summon support characters as assists in a way that feels closer to a tag-team fighter. With this first update, developer Fair Play Labs is beginning to roll out its post-launch support plans.
While the patch is relatively modest in scope, the studio noted that it includes numerous bug fixes and general improvements across the game. One notable addition is full keyboard remapping for Steam players, giving PC users greater flexibility when customizing their controls without needing a controller or fight stick.
The update also introduces the long-awaited Samurai Appa pre-order bonus, adding a new cosmetic appearance for Aang's sky bison support character. Steam players who own the Deluxe Edition can now access exclusive alternate color variants for Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, and Sokka.
The developers also addressed the Nintendo Switch version, confirming that features such as crossplay and Deluxe Edition content are still in development and will arrive in a future update. Meanwhile, the delayed Xbox release remains on hold as the studio continues working with Microsoft to resolve a final technical issue.
