Naughty Dog's acclaimed The Last of Us Part One is getting a new release, but this isn't the multiplayer spin-off many fans have been waiting for. Instead, one of the game's most terrifying enemies is being immortalized in an extremely expensive collector's piece that can cost as much as $2,399.

Japanese manufacturer Prime 1 Studio has revealed new details about its upcoming Bloater diorama based on The Last of Us Part One. The statue is part of the company's Real Elite Masterline collection and recreates one of the game's most memorable encounters.

The standard version of the diorama was originally unveiled in June with a price tag of $1,799. Prime 1 Studio has now revealed an Ultimate Bonus Edition costing $2,399, which includes several additional pieces that make the display even more elaborate.

The Ultimate Bonus Edition includes a damaged alternate head for the Bloater, as well as a high school doorway backdrop featuring built-in LED lighting. The additional pieces are designed to recreate the setting of one of The Last of Us Part One's most memorable encounters.

The diorama draws directly from Chapter 4 of The Last of Us Part One, when Joel, Ellie, and Bill encounter a Bloater inside a high school gymnasium. During the sequence, the massive infected creature bursts through an unbarricaded doorway, creating one of the game's more memorable encounters.

The new backdrop is specifically designed to recreate that moment, while the alternate damaged head allows collectors to display the Bloater in a different state.

The Bloater statue is also part of a larger three-piece collection. Prime 1 Studio has separately produced dioramas featuring Joel and Ellie from the original game, with each statue sold individually. Collectors looking to own the complete set could therefore spend more than $4,000.

Prime 1 Studio says the Bloater was created with detailed sculpting and paintwork intended to faithfully recreate the creature from the game. However, some details surrounding the upcoming release remain unclear, including the power source for the LED lighting incorporated into the backdrop.The exact release date is also subject to change, with Prime 1 Studio currently targeting a window between December 2027 and March 2028.

For most The Last of Us fans, a $2,399 statue is obviously going to be well outside the budget. But for collectors looking to bring one of the franchise's most recognizable monsters into the real world, this Bloater could be one of the most elaborate The Last of Us collectibles yet.
