Almost August!: We know the official release date for Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2
Cold Iron Studios has confirmed Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 launches on August 25, bringing Colonial Marines back into the fight against relentless Xenomorph hordes.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 is officially launching on August 25, 2026, meaning players are now less than a month away from returning to the fight against the Xenomorph threat. Like the original game, the sequel is a co-op third-person shooter that puts players in the boots of Colonial Marines battling overwhelming alien hordes.
The original Aliens: Fireteam Elite launched in August 2021 to a mixed critical reception. It currently holds a 68 Top Critic Average and a 34% recommendation rate on OpenCritic. Despite the lukewarm reviews, the game built a dedicated player base, leading to sequel rumors in 2024. An ESRB rating appeared in late 2025 before Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 was officially revealed in May 2026.
Developer Cold Iron Studios has now confirmed that the sequel will release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on August 25. Alongside the announcement, the studio published a short 15-second teaser trailer showcasing fast-paced combat against several types of Xenomorphs. According to the trailer's description, players can expect "new perks, abilities, weapons, Xenomorphs, and more" when the game launches.
Cold Iron Studios has also detailed the game's launch editions. The Digital Standard Edition will cost $49.99 and includes the base game on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC via Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
Players looking for additional content can pick up the 40th Anniversary Premium Edition for $69.99. In addition to the base game, this version includes two themed DLC packs inspired by the wider Alien universe.
One of those add-ons, Herk's Mondo Pest Pack, is based on the cult-favorite character Herk Mondo from Dark Horse's Aliens: Colonial Marines comics. The pack includes a modified Pulse Rifle, exclusive weapon color variants, nine decals, and a unique character skin, giving longtime Alien fans a selection of cosmetic items drawn from the franchise's extended lore.
