How was this universe created?

In that same year, Pokémon Center Co. was established by the original authors
of Pokémon: Nintendo Co., Creatures
Inc., and GAME FREAK Inc.
In October 2000, it became The Pokémon Company, which is now responsible for managing the Pokémon franchise in
all its forms.
What started as a simple Game Boy game has expanded to an ongoing anime series, a card game, and a mobile one.
The Pokémon universe has many different sides to it, but its essence revolves around the cute creatures that the fans truly love. For them, the sentence “Gotta catch them all” is more than just a sentence,
it is a lifestyle.
The mind behind Pokémon
Satoshi Tajiri is the creator behind Pocket Monsters, abbreviated to Pokémon after the game launch. As a child, he loved to collect insects, tadpoles, and other small creatures, which to us sounds like a very fitting reason why he invented a game about collecting adorable animals.

He created the initial concept, and the first two games were released for Game Boy in Japan in 1996. Some say that Pokémon was a sleeper hit, meaning it was a flop
at first but later became a surprising hit that took the world by storm. It would be just the beginning.
Pokémon became such an outstanding hit that when it was released a few months later in the U.S., a tradable card game plus an anime series had already been created based on it.
Are creatures with superpowers even cool?
Yes, they are. Especially if you mix them with the fact that you can tame, evolve, and fight with them against other ones. Loving Pokémon is to know the lore behind it. What are they, their power,
story, and how to gain their trust?

Gotta catch them all!
1,025 Pokémon in total is a simple answer to the question of how many of these little beings exist. A National Pokédex records all species in their base forms. As of now, there are 18 types of Pokémon with
9 different generations.
Some of the most well-known and loved ones include Pikachu, Eevee, Charizard, and Bulbasaur. Pikachu is the iconic
series mascot with millions of people
cosplaying it at conventions. We are sure somewhere or in some place you have heard someone yell, “Is that a Pikachu?”
In the anime series, he was Ash’s main companion and became a symbol for Pokémon fans everywhere.

The Pokémon universe
Pokémon is so much more than collecting adorable creature cards. This universe has something awesome for every type of fan.
The franchise is divided into 3 major
categories. Video games, the trading card game, and media. All of them are very successful and have gathered milions
of fans all over the world.
Impossible choices ahead
Pokémon was created to be a Game Boy game. Simple, fun, and very easy to play. More and more seasons were released, and now, if we include all the spin-offs,
over 150 Pokémon-related games
have been created.
We will talk a bit about each one of them! This way, you have a chance to get to know them as well!
Pokémon Legends: Z-A has been released for Nintendo Switch 2 just this year and is becoming another hit. Picking the best of them is impossible, but after much pain and research, we settled on one that
the majority of the fans love.

Pokémon Silver and Gold is the sequel to the original game, Pokémon Red and Blue. The first game was able to create millions of fans, so its sequel was a very expected one. The fandom was demanding something bigger and better.
To top it all off, when you reach the end of the game, the Kanto region that you know from the original Red and Blue game is unlocked, which allows you to revisit all
of the gyms and trainers!
The game delivered that and much more. The new features included a new map, 100 new Pokémon added to the library, and 2 new types. A day and night cycle brought Pokémon that could only be caught at specific times.
Pick a card! Any card!
The video games are indeed very popular, but have you tried the trading card game? At its core, it is a strategic tabletop game where two players use a minimum of
60 Pokémon cards and try to
defeat other players the fastest they can. Build your deck according to the attacks, defenses, and special abilities of your Pokémon. You will need a large number
of cards so you can play and trade.
Collecting the cards and trading them with other fans is a big part of the experience. Having an extensive collection filled with special and rare cards can be very impressive and cool!

“GOTTA CATCH ‘EM ALL!”

Media madness?
Pokémon debuted on the screens a few months after the original games were launched. Since then, 24 movies have been created, which include animated
and live-action ones. Fans are in love
with it all!
Not to mention the eight sequential series, with the latest one being released in 2023, featuring new protagonists. Being able to see your favorite characters on screen, follow their adventures, and meet new ones was a whole new experience,
and the fans wanted more.

Pocket Monsters
on the big screen!
The OG anime series was titled Pocket Monsters. Once it gained a more global status, it adopted additional names such as Pokémon Indigo League and Pokémon the Original Series. The show was based on the game, following Ash Ketchum’s adventures while collecting gym badges.
The trainer became a fan favorite right away, with specific parts of his costume, like his hat, being one of the Pokémon symbols/references.
Pokémon Horizons will premiere a new season in January 2026. The last movie, Secrets of the Jungle, was released in 2020, and rumors suggest that a new
one will come out in 2026!
Will you still keep choosing Pokémon?
There are no predictions that this universe will die anytime soon. The fan numbers continue to grow, and new releases
are already scheduled.
In TGC, you can count on upcoming sets including a new Mega Evolution-focused expansion. The “Year of Eevee” campaign includes new plush and kitchenware.
The video game Pokémon Legends: Z-A brings new merchandise like the Omni Ring bracelet that allows you to play using Mega Evolution.
The demand for Pokémon items is high, and the company is ensuring that by reprinting existing sets and introducing new ones that they can keep fans happy.
Also, there will be a new anime season. These are just a few of the things that
the next few years will bring for
the fans of Pokémon.
If you are a fan, expect more exciting things for Pokémon, and we do hope
you catch them all!
